actuator diaphram is ripped, replace. re-set the wastegate preload.
it doesn't look like a huge leak.

Re: 04 xc70: Are deep pockets needed for this vehicle?
I appreciate easy ecu and trans swaps, drive-by-cable (not wire), no complicated key making, no vvt. Crazy solenoids this, more electronics that. I suppose yall helped me figure it out then. Thank yall. Yeh I thought the same about my red block 740 wagon, low tech, simple to wrench on. I killed it ...

Re: Camshaft Locking Tool 04 XC70
I am preparing to replace my head gasket and am not sure which camshaft locking tool set to get. I'm leaning towards IPD - 121804 kit but it looks like the same no name kit I see on Ebay for ⅓ the price. I may only use it 1 time, so don't want to pay too much or get a shoddy tool. I'd appreciate an...

i dont know what a tilt speed sensor is,
but i'd start with a wiring harness inspection.
Clean and re-seat connectors.
get your hands on wiring harness, rodent damage is always possible.

Re: Exhaust Leak 2004 XC70
the upper flange, or pre cat, is far less likely to fail unless its the flex pipe weld. ft cat flange fails all the time, either weld or get a flange repair coupler. Thats what I used, its holding 2 yrs on so far. https://www.amazon.com/Flange-Repair-Kit-Exhaust-Replacement/dp/B0FPQJ9NZM/ref=sr_1_1_...

Re: 04 xc70: Are deep pockets needed for this vehicle?
I have owned several p80 FWD and several p2 AWD. I usually buy them in about the 150k range but I look for well maintained cars. The p2 cars definitely cost more to maintain. These are the main reasons for the additional expense: - AWD parts. They will fail. You can ignore it and drive FWD, that is...
