I can see now that water is leaking from a bolt on the passenger side firewall that must go through the cowl vent area. Any ideas on how to solve this? I'm starting to think that my problem would go away if I just covered this vent completely tho I have no idea how to do that or how ugly it would ...

I pulled the plastic plugs under the carpet and got a special attachment to vacuum out the leaves inside the pinch-weld area of the frame.
