Windshield Wiper Fix

Okay for those of you driving these older Volvos (and maybe some newer) at some point you may face the same issue I did with my wipers. While driving down the road I hit a bump and my wipers quit working. The issue was that the bolt that holds the wiper arms to the motor came loose. I fixed it but t...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Newest update, I found out it wasn't the brakes that were giving me a problem. The guy that originaly starting helping me took off the axles in the beginning when I wasn't there. Well when he put them back in he put the axle nuts on but didn't tighten them. Just goes to show ALWAYS check someone els...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Yeah. Unfortunately this car is going to break me. I pushed the cam seals back in and am hoping that they won't be an issue again. But if they are, well, I guess I'm getting a couple new pieces of rubber. Next is a complete brake job. Man I tell you this is by far the most I have eer had to do to a ...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Not so golden after all. I pulled into a Advanced Auto after driving for maybe half an hour and noticed my oil light was on. I pulled in and checked it and sure enough it wasn't even registering. I bought some oil and dumped it in just so I could make it home and asses the situation. Look under the ...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Maybe, but I didn't use one though. But she is running at last. Took a lot of hard work but I got to turn the key today, scared as hell mind you, and she fired right up after only a few tries. Sounds pretty damn good too considering I had to replace the exhaust donought so now it has a better seal. ...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Uh still working on the install of the head. To anyone who may need to do this in the future, beware of the intake manifold bolts. They are by far the biggest pains in the ass. Make sure to bolt the manifold up to the head before dropping it in. Also be ready to replace a lot of hose clamps. The one...

Re: 850 Cylinder Heads

Hey guys. Just wanted to throw out a quick update. I ordered my head on Wensday and it arrived today from Clear-Water Cylinder Heads. Great people to deal with. Even got the discount for being prior service. The head looks great, but we'll see what happens when it's installed. http://i30.photobucket...

850 Cylinder Heads

Well, I was getting close to doing some work on Project 850, when disaster struck. While doing 45mph my timing belt snapped. No biggy right? Yeah, except for the fact that even with the new belt on it still wouldn't start. So I pulled the head. I had to valves broken off completely and all of the ex...
