Re: 2007-2011 S80/V70/XC70: blower motor replacement
In my case, the failure was a very noisy bearing in the fan motor, not an electrical failure. I've attached the location of the resistor (part 30767040; it's a full-blown control module on these cars) for the 2008 S80, this is probably valid for all P3 cars up to 2013 MY.

Re: 2008 S80 T6 code P0171, PCV issue?
OK, so I just wasn't patient enough: the long term fuel trim went up to 1.14 after a long drive today and later came down to 1.12 after a drive. All's well.
Lesson learned: high vacuum at the dipstick might be just as obvious a sign of PCV failure as no vacuum at all...at least on P3 cars.

Re: 2008 S80 T6 code P0171, PCV issue?
OK, so the oil trap was bad for sure. There was a vacuum leak at the little hole that the membrane uses for its pressure reference. New oil trap installed today and no more leak there, as well as significantly less crankcase vacuum...there's definitely a vacuum, but it's not 2 in Hg of vacuum, it ba...

2008 S80 T6 code P0171, PCV issue?
Good day MVS! I've got an '08 S80 T6 with its first 'I'm stumped' problem. I'm getting an ECM-P017100 (system too lean). It's too lean in bin 1,1 (idle basically), with the long term fuel trim going to 1.30 in that bin, but with all others being right around 1. No obvious vacuum leaks. However, I no...

Re: 2009 S80 Wish to Add Sirius Tuner
No button replacement is needed. The MODE button is used to select satellite radio (two tuners) when Sirius is installed. Hopefully all the dealer needs to do is to install the Satellite Radio application and you should be good. There is chance that it won't program because the VIN is different, I'm...

Re: 1999 S70 Damper motors won't calibrate
I realize I never followed up. The air distribution damper had failed...and since it's the first one to go through calibration, the system never got past it to calibrate. Once I'd replaced it, turned the key, the system calibrated and the flashing A/C light turned off.

Re: 2008 S80 Remote Will Not Open Doors
Likely to be the RRX (remote receiver module). You'd need to have it scanned with VIDA at a shop with a VIDA scanner or a dealership. The RRX receives the signals from the TPMS as well as the key fob signals.

Re: 01 S80 a/c cuts out with soft acceleration periodically
This 2.9 non-turbo automatic has been amazing in every other aspect. When a light turns green, or I'm merging onto a highway, it seems like the compressor kicks off and warm air fills the cabin. I've tried two things: leaving the instrument panel alone and give it time to get cold again (which it d...

Re: 2000 S70 Base DTC P0505: Air assisted control valve (AAC
Hi tiarim, the AACV is powered by the main engine management relay, 2/32 in the attached diagram. It's grounded (energized) by the ECU. The relay may be staying on either due to age or the ECU keeping it energized (or a faulty electrical portion of ignition switch)
