I replaced all the cam seals, Do you really think it is something as simple as a cam seal put in wrong?

ok the smoke looks as though it is coming from the back cam sprocket. Any ideas?

Ok, a month later, replaced all 20 lifters, and head gasket. put the car back together cranked it up and it was whining really loud and smoke started coming off the back camshaft. Its as if this problem is never ending.

any advice?

I suppose the easiest way to explain it, was that I was only able to collapse those two lifters. VERY easily. When I tried on the other lifters they seeped oil out or sucked oil in. These were as loose as a rubber diaphram. They had a lot of play.

Any Ideas?

Ozark, I believe we have some confusion about the play with my lifters. I was not referring to the play in the lifter holes, I was reffering to the play on the inside of the lifter, the part that sets against the top of the valve stem. for the record, I took them out individually, one at a time, and put them all back in their respective slot.

Ozark, Thank you for your suggestion. However I have tried what you suggested and all the fuel injectors are spraying a mist of fuel just as they should.

I did change the oil then I drove it around the block and it still had the same symtoms. Still white smoke coming out and smelling like gasoline.
