I have VIDA/DICE. If I buy new ETM, how do I program it?

I have a 2001 V70 T5. Idle sits at about 700 rpm. When I give the car slight gas after clearing all codes and letting it sit, it hesitates, then starts surging and that surging doesn't go away until I turn the car off and back on. I also have a hole in my acceleration partway through the rev range a...

Re: Can't get drivers side axle out.

Don't be afraid to be rougher than you think you should. You just gotta pull hard. Use the axle as it's own slide hammer if you don't plan on re-using it.

Re: Persistent P0014 Code

The VVT have to be within onectooth, with the VVT unit clocked correctly to get the valve timing right. It’s not just lining up the marks Turns out the problem was the wiring to the solenoid. I had to separate it from the rest of the engine harness and re-splice it. Fully fixed. Was able to smog th...

Re: Persistent P0014 Code

With the system saying the timing is over-advanced, would you wager I should retard both cam gears by one tooth and then see if it throws a code?

Re: 1999 V70T5M56 timing belt job P0014 code, pernicious ECM 644A

I basically have the same drivetrain as your car. P2 T5 M56. Also for the life of me cannot figure out this issue. P0014 only comes up in stop and go traffic. Never comes on when driving the car hard. Timing looked correct. Vvt hub fully retarded in the sockets.

Re: Persistent P0014 Code

Similar question on P80 thread: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=103667 You seem to have checked one of the 2-3 issues that are known to cause this code. VVT soleniod is another as well as a clogged or leaking VVT valve or gasket. Then there is the Crank sensor and cam senso...

Re: Persistent P0014 Code

See my thread on ECM 644A, probably will show below in ‘ related threads’ Getting timing set right in VVT cars is a bit finicky I just physically checked timing and it looks to be in time compared to whats in the TRQ timing belt change video. Persistent P0014 Code

2001 Volvo V70 T5 M56. 140,000 miles. Has been throwing a P0014 since I bought it in May. Since May, I've replaced or had replaced the following related parts: CEM (mechanic also said timing looked fine) VVT Solenoid (and gasket 3 times) VVT Solenoid Terminal and Wiring Cam Position Sensor (Exhaust)...
