Nicely done! What did you use to clean it? I think this next on my list of things to do on my car, I was going to drop it in the hot caustic tank but would prefer a gentler method of cleaning. That's good news, I expect thats the cause of your horrible engine sound. I had a Corvair years ago that had a very small crack in the flywheel and it made the engine sound like it was coming apart, similar to yours. How long did it take you to get the oil pan off?
