I have to agree with "Black bart" on that one, the fuel pressure regulator on the end of the fuel rail is probably the issue all along.

I disagree that this is normal, I was a warranty inspector for many years, and found that the vacuum diaphram (in the brake booster) would leak and cause the hissing sound.
