So the car has 130k miles, thermostat (oem) was replaced at 100k at dealer. After all this I decided to replace the thermostat and that seems to have been the problem! Does this seem normal an oem thermostat failing after only 30k?

Wouldn't the ambient temperature sensor throw a fault? Is there an output value you could check with the autel?

No it's the temperature that's the problem at all vents. It's either ice cold or warm. I'm thinking the one which regulates temperature (not fully switching air flow to the heater core) but don't know which one that is or where it's located. Thanks in advance.

Update: It seems there may have been some air in the system. shortly after posting, 2 drives later, all is working normally. I did perform the hose squeeze and checked the other suggestions above prior. Hopefully everything continues to work as it should. Thank you for your assistance I appreciate it.
