FIXED. Check the brake dust shield. Mine was just barely rubbing on the spring/shock assembly causing a groan that sounded like rubber on springs - thought it might have been a bad spring insulator. Took a bit of time but I found just pulling the top of the dust shield towards the outside of the car...
