Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my '98 S-70 to a '08 S60. Milage 88K. Any particular issues or trouble areas I should take a closer look at or be aware of with this model year? What types of problems occur? Thanks in advance for feedback.

So now my car has been checked out and a new (or used) steering rack (AA1 26-1995), Dextrin fluid (is this just trans fluid, or does it come as p/s fluid too), and alignment. Have been told the leak has stopped. But when I drive the car, the steering wheel is tight (has never been this way before). ...

Had the Fluid level checked. It was 1/2 empty. The noise disappeared. Still had the car checked out - up on the lift.
A leak was revealed and it was determined a rack would be needed. Could this have been a slow leak, setting off a check engine code of 0172??

Engine is replacement engine. In turning the steering wheel to guide the car, this produces a low noise, a little vibration. Is the car safe to drive? I might add that when the heater and/or defroster is on, I can detect a gasoline or oil smell. Is this related to the fuel injector ?
