Is there any way to test the ETM when it is out of the car and then after cleaning to see if the cleaning has solved the issue, maybe some measurements? or do I have to bolt everything back together and cross fingers

Thanks for these suggestions, however my car does not have the magnetti marelli ETM but the later models Bosch unit so this rebuild does not apply i guess... I can buy a new ETM for about 300 usd but then I would also need to pay a workshop to calibrate it to the car for me, was hoping for a cheaper...

The code i am reading is "ECM-91B7 throttle valve, faulty signal". When I read of the OBD scanner with the car running it says throttle valve position 1° but as soon as I turn the engine off it shows the position to be 7°. No idea if this is significant to the problem...

There are numerous threads about the ETM failing symptoms, however I am struggling to figure out this one. When starting the car one morning the dash showed "reduced engine performance" and idle was rough and quickly the engine stalled. After clearing the code with an obd scanner everythin...
