Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
Pretty sure the NA M4.4 ECUs don't have any of the components populated on the board for the boost control. What are you doing for your boost control? Whether this is also the source of your -422 code, but it is highly likely. There is coverage of that code HERE on this site. I would source a turbo...

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
Hey all, Installed a wideband O2 sensor and put the 608_rev5b tune on the ECU, and besides max boost level, it seems to be driving perfectly and within the proper stoichiometric range which is awesome. Actually a little better from stops, as the car used to run lean when starting to move with the au...

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
What ChuckW said above.. RE this comment by gwcook: I bought a sacrificial ECU to mess around with (got the P/N from the list on M4.4 wiki, and it looks to be exactly what I ordered), and just set it up on the bench. I'm using a power supply that can go up to 16v, so I set it at 15v to ensure I was...

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
A couple replies: First, I think maybe the reason I wasn't able to log is because I needed to flash the modified BIN onto the ECU to allow it to enter listen mode (correct me if I am wrong). I was trying this in the car- and no clue if my computer is running anything on those ports as you mentioned....

Re: VS M4.4 tuning dead? Start again here?
Hey all, Trying to get into tuning my '98 R, and having issues getting started. First, I bought a cable that had the wrong chipset in it - so I was unable to get TunerPro RT to recognize it. I've bought another cable and confirmed via the FT_Prog software that it is indeed the recommended chip, and ...

Fake VAG COM Cable - Need real FTDI chip
Hello all, I am finally getting around to tuning my M4.4 ECU to get rid of the CEL caused by the M66 swap. Need to take the car in for emissions testing and I don't want to give the state inspectors any reason to give me a hard time. I bought a VAG KKL cable off of amazon a year or two ago, and was ...

Re: 2.3 Engine Build - Turbo Selection
Already done, it's got an m66 in it.I know nothing about turbos other than a bit on the standard ones. However, are you planning a manual swap on your car? The standard 4 speed auto is only rated to a reliable 320bhp.
Neil.

2.3 Engine Build - Turbo Selection
Hello all, I have a 98 v70r with an engine that is starting to get a bit tired, and I've started to look at options for building an engine to replace this one once it dies. Planning on going with a 2.3 block (most likely sourcing one from a 99 R), and aiming for ~350 (very reliable) hp (I'm hoping t...
