I recall reading about a forum member who welded a bigger nut onto the existing damaged nut. This gave a better purchase(grip) with a good and correctly sized socket. I am afraid I cannot find the post, but this may be your solution. that was me. I don't get a chance to hang out on here very often ...

it could be that the passage in the block is crudded up but the oil separator could be in pretty decent shape. Mine looked like it was brand new, although I haven't cut it open yet, it did not feel like it weighed any different than the brand new one. I would expected if it was full of crud to weigh...

I did read your post. I guess I'll be pulling the intake again. At least i know how to do it so it should be much easier than the first time. I may get a new PTC as the one i have, the rubber is pretty worn out and it doesn't snap into the accordion tube very well anymore. any other tips are still w...

I had done the seafoam (oil, intake and fuel) and it didn't seem to effect much. I guess i could try it again in the oil now that i've done and oil change. should I try disconnecting the tube that goes up between the spark plugs and pouring seafoam down into the new oil separator - then possibly it ...

PCV Pressure
so far I have changed the PCV system including the oil separator, Cleaned the PTC and replaced the oil cap gasket. I am still having obvious oil vapor come from the dipstick and oil under the cam cover - is there something I'm missing as far as reducing the pressure or is there something that still ...

I haven't paid a mechanic to do work for me in quite a while - although I was afraid I was soon going to either have to take to a mech. or replace the oil pan  anyway - I got the drain plug out. If in doubt get the welder out!! It's ugly but it got the job done. Was hard to see to weld with t...

thanks for the tips. I'll try it again with the pipe wrench. I might also use a cutoff wheel and cut a slot through the head and use a piece of steel like a flat head screwdriver - although I'm sure that will just mangle the head even more. I've got it out there now warming up so I can go at it agai...

REALLY stuck oil pan drain bolt
So the previous owner must have zinged he drain bolt back in with an impact wrench (or maybe the oil change shop he used) the bolt head was mangled and it is stuck in there TIGHT. So far I've tried the correct sized socket, a slightly smaller socket hammered on, a pipe wrench and a set of craftsman ...
