Re: Replaced PCV Diaphragm Weird Noise
Thought I'd update, took the vehicle to a Volvo specialist a while back and they said it looks like one of the READ bearings is going out and causing the noise. I must have started working on the car and didn't realize the noise was already there to begin with before replacing the PCV trap. They cla...

Re: Spinning Rear Wheels in Park
The engine would be off, but the computer still monitors modules correct? There's that whole 10 minute rule after shutting off the car before disconnecting the battery.

Spinning Rear Wheels in Park
I'll be replacing my front brake flex hoses this weekend; look like the originals and they are toast. I want to lift the rear of the vehicle to check those hoses, and spin the wheels to check for grabbing brakes. Any concern with spinning the rear wheels while they're in the air and the car in Park?...

Re: ‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
Same concept as "wet plate clutches" in transfer-cases I imagine. Hydraulic pressure clamps the interlocking plates together engaging/locking the driveshafts together, though it's just metal on metal with the fluid between.

Re: ‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
dikidera What is the function and purpose of the Slip Lockup you are referring to? Does the update I just received also remove that? I had this funny symptom when pulling away from a stop, even after Drive would re-engage out of Neutral, the car would kind of pulsate forward a little before fully e...

Re: Spark Plug Thread Corrosion
@abscate Okay great, just making sure I wasn't reading false data. I've tracked it a few days and no misfire counts have showed up except one time right after starting the vehicle it registered 1 count on cylinder 1, but then it quickly went away and auto reset back to 0 for some reason.

Re: ‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
Just an update for the update; the dealership ended up doing instead what's called a Service 2.0 software update. This apparently includes the P/N 30677036 Neutral/Control software, along with anything else it might need. This includes updates for other modules like the ECM or ETM if your car needs ...

Re: ‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
That is very funny that is literally all it takes. Contacted another dealer outside of my town and they gave me the correct info. Turns out that TJ 16761 is the PDF/Document outlining the software, and P/N 30677036 is the correct TCM update which includes the stop/neutral control fix. Just providing...

‘01 Stop/neutral TCM Update
Want to thank everyone who has helped me so far. I recently just figured out the reason for a delay in engagement when pulling away from a stop light. I thought it was brakes not lifting-off for a while, but I found out about the Stop/neutral function on ‘01 P2 cars. Currently have the vehicle at a ...

Re: Spark Plug Thread Corrosion
Finished replacing the plugs yesterday. Ended up installing dry and torqued to about 19 ft-lbs. Now I'm not sure if it's just me being hyper vigilant but it seems to run very slightly rougher. Is there potential for the computer to need to adjust to the new plugs? Would the computer have detected th...
