Sounds like your constant wire to the radio isn't working, or you hooked up the signal wire to the constant power, or both.
The clock and the constant wire on the radio harness are indeed connected, and if one isn't working the other won't either. Check the wire and check clean the connections.

Re: 1990 240 DL "Brake Failure" Light and Excessive Pedal Tr
I replaced the master cylinder because the pedal would just drop if held but would be firm if pumped firmly. The light has gone off, and after bleeding braking power has been restored.

Re: 1990 240 DL "Brake Failure" Light and Excessive Pedal Tr
After driving it a lot recently, I can tell that the car pulls to the right during braking. Also, if the pedal is moved slowly down there is a complete loss of brakes.

Re: 1990 240 DL "Brake Failure" Light and Excessive Pedal Tr
Is there anything that is more prone to failure that I should be looking for? Any easy checks that I can do before I get it up on the lift?
The fluid is millimeters below the max mark on the reservoir, so I don't think the level is a problem.

I wrapped everything up today on this issue, and it is functioning fine. Changed the ground and all is well. Thank you all for the help.

1990 240 DL "Brake Failure" Light and Excessive Pedal Tr
I'm experiencing a mostly constant, but intermittent "Brake Failure" light. The brakes stop the car fine, but the pedal does not feel firm and will drop if pushed hard enough. During ordinary driving, the pedal will not drop, but feels spongy.

Re: 1990 Volvo 240 DL Charging System Problem
Sorry about the delay all, things have been getting hectic and work on other cars has taken priority for a while. I'm not half bad when it comes to working on other people's stuff, haha.
I grounded the case to the chassis, and got no change.

Re: 850 140k Major Maintenance
I did this job yesterday using this guide as one of my resources, it proved to be a great help.
Some things I did that I found to make it go a lot smoother were unbolting the engine from the mound by the crank and jacking it up, moving the expansion tank on top of the engine, and taking out the ...

Sounds to me like you might have a draw problem.
If you have a multimeter, try checking for a parasitic draw. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and connect the DVOM in series with the circuit, making sure to be using the 10A fused input. + on the cable, - on the terminal. Wait approximately 15 ...

Re: 1990 Volvo 240 DL Charging System Problem
I, in my infinite wisdom, just realized that this alternator isn't grounded by the mount to the engine... There was no ground wire on the alternator to begin with, so I just assumed that it was through the mount like many others are. Didn't even think twice about it as I was removing the alternator ...
