Intermittant transmission issues turn out to be alternator.
Not sure if anyone else has run into this, especially when people immediately run to the glycol test. Transmissions shifting hard, slipping, shifting at the wrong time. My gf took her 01 v70 xc to an import shop, they charged her $75 for a glycol test and told her the transmission was shot. Reading ...

Re: A\C Compressor Bearing Replacement
I ordered mine online from AutoZone with their 20% off promo. So it was the same price as other retailers but if I had trouble I could take it in to a local store to return. I took the car to a local shop to have them evacuate the refrigerant, then after I replaced it, I took it back over and had th...

Re: A\C Compressor Bearing Replacement
I just bought a whole unit for $300. I noticed the compressor was starting to make an internal knocking noise as well.

Re: 2005 S80 - Fan speed controls work intermittently.
Interesting. Thanks for the idea of the resistor. I've changed blower resistors on other cars before. I could see this happening perhaps if the fan control uses a separate resistor from the automatic climate controls. But speeds still vary when the knob works. Which leads me back to a control knob o...

2005 S80 - Fan speed controls work intermittently.
Good morning all, I tried searching for similar topics but couldn't find anything so I hope you someone else has run into this. My 05 s80 is having issues with the dial knob on the fan control intermittently not working. Sometimes it works fine, others it just spins and spins without changing the bl...

Re: 05 - S80 - Engine stalls and shows P0087
Sounds like driving the car with a multi meter on the pump will tell me if there's a power to the pump issue. what should I be looking for for range?

Re: 05 - S80 - Engine stalls and shows P0087
Thanks Matt, is there a good way to test this component? Short of getting my hands on a Computer to plug in? If the Fuel Pressure Sensor was bad, would it throw the code but still run normally? Or would it cause the computer to try to compensate if it "thinks" the fuel pressure is bad? The...

Re: 05 - S80 - Engine stalls and shows P0087
I called Volvo and they said my car is not one of the recalled cars. Plus it doesn't smell like gas inside the car at all.

05 - S80 - Engine stalls and shows P0087
Hello All, I've been looking for the troubleshooting steps to figure out what's happening here and I thought someone might know them to help guide me. I have a 2005 S80 with ~156k miles. On a trip back (luckily at the end of an 800 mile trek) it died several times. Basically the engine kept running ...
