Re: 2000 S70 Coolant Temp Gauge Fluctuating

Just a comment on the electrics(dash/radio/ directionals/lights) not working. My ignition switch does not always return to the full "run" position detent after starting (weak spring?), and exhibits the same symptoms. Just nudging it back solves the problem.

Re: Steering seized after a rack replacement

That sure sounds like something mechanically binding up. I would think if it were strictly a hydraulic problem(frozen moisture, etc.) you would be able to overcome that with brute force. It's been awhile, but I seem to recall fully seating the steering shaft to the splined shaft on the rack was a bi...

Re: Harsh reverse engagement/TCM 0039

Sharing the results of my tinkering with this when I could over the last couple of months. Shift cable did not appear to have any play, so I experimented with adjusting it by tightening the threaded plastic end piece 1 turn, then 2 turns to account for any stretching of the cable. I seem to have fou...

Re: Harsh reverse engagement/TCM 0039

Thank you all for the replies. Torque strut and front motor mount are recent and in good shape. The ability to duplicate this by moving the the gearshift within the extremes of the reverse detent position make the shift cable itself(stretched or out of adjustment) a great place to start my investiga...

Harsh reverse engagement/TCM 0039

Greetings..'99 V70/323k(purchased new/ best car ever!). When shifted into reverse, I have developed an intermittent harsh engagement. Performed a drain and fill mainly to get a peek at the fluid; kinda dark, but not burned. When performing garage shifts, I was able to duplicate the harsh engagement ...

I'm pretty sure I can borrow a smoker from a mechanic buddy/ Has anyone tested one of these?

Re: 2005 V70 p0455

Has anyone personally smoke tested one of these? Where do you access the system? I haven't located an EVAP service port as is present in other vehicles.

Re: 2005 V70 p0455

This car commutes 40 miles on the highway daily and the 'auto' position on the climate control panel manages to cycle the a/c compressor occasionally, even in New England winter, so even with those events occuring, it still sets the code like clockwork at just under 1/2 tank. I clear it with my gener...
