'99 and '00 have totally different engine management ME7...and some of them use Denso sensors....so '99 & '00 use different Maf.

Make sure that it have the same Bosch mumbers 0 280 217 107,like old one.

Could be a Maf connector too....they are prone to failure...and they give you intermittent problems.
You will need a small precision screwdriver to close the gaps on the connector.
If that doesn't help...it's the Maf.

'99 to '95 is ok as long as you keep the manifolds from '95 and cvvt unplugged.
'95 to '99 isn't possible because of cvvt.

Cap and rotor must be Bosch. Replace every 50k miles. Wires must be Bougicord. Replace every 100k miles... I would say that those intervals are pretty short and unnecessary early. I replaced my cap & rotor preventatively around 300k km....wires are still original...Bougicord(350k+ km). Volvo spark ...

Thanks...it's VDO latest cluster(car is '97) for 850.
I'll see what my options are.

You're talking about early and late 850 clusters...right? I just read about this in some old thread here on MVS and on volvospeed. It seems that i would need '96 or '97 850 cluster or s,v70...but from '97 & '98 ONLY. '99 or '00 will not work. What about odometer mechanism...can i just swap it out fr...

Postage alone from U.S to Serbia is around 40$ plus 25$ for a gear kit...plus custom taxes.
I can get a cluster for 20-25€.

I know all of that...but just for the price of shipping(probably for less than that) i can get a used instrument cluster from junkyard or from private seller.
Eu market doesn't have those odometer gears for 850 and shipping from U.S costs more than the whole gear kit from ipd or fcp.
