Great ideas.
There is definitely a difference in percevied acceleration when starting form a dead stop or crusing along and stepping on the gas.
Her's doesn't appear to have a "Turbo Lag".

Love my 2004 XC-70 but have to put my foot into it to feel the G's. You barely need to get close to the gas pedal to set her 2006 flying.
