That hose supplies air to the "brains" to help keep them cool.
Mine had some holes underneath so I used some black electrical tape and wrapped it a couple times. Looks fine and it should do the trick.

Volgrrr, I sent Matt a Heater core removal How to guide with pictures last week, but not heard from him. It would have been good for you to see. I saw the just saw the thread that Ozark Lee suggested. It was about what I sent Matt. So anyways, it is a simple process, maybe a little messy but needs t...

As far as switching from a 13 to a 15, I don't know of any problems as long as they fit the same. But that is just a good guess, you will have to research that. The turbo rebuild was not hard at all. I have had my motor out and rebuilt it approx. 40,000 miles ago. So I have been around my motor on m...

Yes, I believe that should work. It looks real close to what I bought. I bought a kit good for all TD04/TE04H, and that auction looks the same. Its from a different company but looks like everything I changed. The kit I bought had a nice little schematic, easy to follow, not many pieces or much I co...

I guess its to late now since you have bought another turbo, but for other readers. My turbo was leaking after I replaced all the normal oil return line o rings, gasket and such. So I bought a kit off e-bay and did it myself. I had no problems with doing it. It has been a while now, but I remember t...

White smoke? out of air vents
I am recently having a cloud of white smoke coming out of the air vents when car is warmed up. It does it fairly often lately. It does have a antifreeze smell to it. I am planning on replaceing the heater core. Or actually looking at the heater core and seeing if it might just be leaking around the ...

I was going to reply to the original post. The oil under the cover might be as simple as when you or the lube guys fill the engine with oil, some might spill around the filler neck. I know because it happens to me on occasion. That oil will not drain anywhere but will simply sit in all the nooks and...

Lee, You mentioned the balloon test. I am getting air coming out of the oil dipstick tube, except that I have a turbo and no PCV valve. Any Ideas what might be causing it? And yes I have a bad rear main leak. I had a rear main leak so I decided to totally rebuilt the whole motor since I had it out. ...
