Where to mount an oil pressure gauge sensor on the five cylinder engine , 2005
I was wondering if anyone has ever connected an oil pressure gauge to the 2.5, five cylinder engine found in the 2005 S 80 . Where is the current sensor and if you happen to know thread size , that would be great

Re: Temperature gauge won't go up
Don't put that extra computer in!! I have heard stories of computers from other volvos that once put in, cause a total failure of the vehicle as they are foreign to the programming of the current system. Such failures cannot be repaired. Change the thermostat. The old one is stuck in the open positi...

Re: 2004 transmission issue
The transmission could be failing mechanically without any error codes. You likely have the AW5550 Transmission made by Warner Asia I think and you likely will not be able to get a rebuilt of it (such as buying a transmission of that type that is rebuilt in Mexico for example) . Pull the yellow dips...

Re: 2004 volvo s80 2.5t AWD transmission service required
I have a 2005 with tranny problems at 157k and I was told not to change the fluid at that point because it may make matters worse. That is because the new fluid has a detergent in it that will wash out the valves and make them nearly impossible to seal when in use. Yes, the gunk currently there help...

Spark plugs and their gap
I have about 50,000 on the current spark plugs and that is a lot. It's time to replace before a big trip. The dealership ones are $12 each (probably Bosch ) and that is unacceptable. What do you think, NGK or Bosch ? And what is the gap for a 2005 , turbo 5 cyl ?

Re: 2005 S80 - Stalling at idle - no check engine codes
I had this same problem with the same year vehicle (155k miles) and I replaced the MAF Sensor, the 02 Sensor (forward) and that helped but it was the throttle body that needed cleaning. I posted my experience on here about a week ago. At higher speeds the throttle opens to let in air and there is no...

Re: Coolant leak at high rpm
I have seen where the gasket for the water pump is poor quality and it drips down from the timing belt compartment and flows to the other side along the sub-suspension or something. How much coolant are you adding and how often ?

Re: 2001 S80 No Engine Oil Pressure at Idle
Good Lord , what a problem. There was once a warning about a little, orange, rubber ring that seals around the pick-up tube being a source of gradual pressure loss but it sounds like you have already been there. I met a S-60 with 205K not long ago and the owner said it ran fine

Re: 2004 S80 MAF
What prompted this move ? Who makes the old sensor and the new one ? Try a cleaning of the old sensor first and change the air filter while you are doing this swap. I cannot tell you what that little resistor does. If you are doing this because of an error code that says that MAF voltage is not righ...

Pulsating idle solved, ETM guilty
I posted on here that I had a problem with the idle ( S-80 , 156k miles , five cylinder, sending up code 2188 Bank 1 , Idle too rich, and improper voltage at MAF sensor ) in spite of replacing the MAF sensor ( Cardone from O'Reilly Auto ) and the 02 sensor forward ( Bosch, mail ordered, helped but d...
