Ditto... Either get yours rebuilt by triple edge or roll the dice (take a chance) and buy a used gearbox from a preferred rear ended wreck.

collision measurements
Does anyone know where I can get collision / body measurements for a 1st gen (2000 s80) s80?? I need to know the distance between the front bumper frame rails . Bought an $80 with front end damage and need to pull the left rail straight and up. Thanks UB

I concur with the other members....once you have your Cams @ 12:00 turn them to 3:00 then back to 12:00. This unloads the VVT spring tension. Look at your Cams and see if they are both @ 12:00. Then for validity, I'd also check to make sure the Crank is on IT's mark just in case.. ALL 3 marks should...

The HIgh spot...the way the Drawing arrow showed...and that is where the Line or that Postive hash mark is on the Crankshaft Hub...its like a line that sticks up a little..It too is Lined up with the High spot and not the Valley..I think? Either way, i lined it up with where that Line in on the Hub....

Thank you for the fast reply... I timed mine on the Notch..or RIB.. so do I keep the Cams LOCKED until the Belt is On? Or do I Unlock the Cams then install the belt.. (I've read one set of instructions where you unlock the cams and install the belt.) I left the cams locked when I installed my belt. ...

Someone ..Please clarify...i think this is why my car runs so sh!tty... Once you go thru all the steps with the VVT hub and Bolts reference...Cams Locked...Crank locked...all 3 Marks Lined up...VVT torqued, Cog at rest 1.5 teeth from upper timing cover mark on Exhaust cam.
