the tensioner for your serpentine belt is just about directly to the left of the alternator, there is a nut right in the center of it, I don't remember what size, 12 or 13 mm I think, put a wrench on it and turn it clockwise as far as it will go to remove the tension (if you can't see the nut, it ma...

Re: 2000 XC70 - A little help with diagnostics, please?
I purchased my positive cables FCP Groton, and I will tell you the positive cable to the fuse block is a major pain to replace, that maybe why the quote is so high...

2000 V70XC Timing belt change
So I finally got around to changing my timing belt this weekend on my 2000 V70XC SE with 106k... First, I wanted to send a big thanks out to Made in Japan for the vadis PDF on the procedure...VERY helpful. I also wanted to share a couple of observations... A 2000 V70 doesn't need a special tool to t...

Re: CEL from hades
ok 250 miles and no CEL Thanks again for everyone's help! under the heading of "lessons learned" and this is an embarassing lesson to learn: when installing new O2 sensors, be careful of the routing of the leads...the lead for my rear O2 sensor fouled on the steering column which caused a ...

Re: CEL from hades

Re: CEL from hades
ok, I picked up a couple of O2 sensors and installed them yesterday, the car has 105k on it so I figured even in the absence of a code, I would give it a shot as the existing sensors were original and it probably wouldn't hurt to replace them...it went very smoothly, I bought a crows foot wrench and...
