Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?) Topic is solved

Sentimental topic :) I've thought along the same line (as wheelsup the OP). I bought mine used in late 2004, that was when I first registered for this website. Went through many maintenance/repairs although none as big as transmission. It's still running well now, but paint is starting to peel, and ...

Re: Problems (engine? transmission?) after PCV job Topic is solved

So now it's running great? Awesome! Some thoughts as I read through your posts... - It definitely sounded like a pretty major air leak somewhere, so I'm glad you found some hoses amiss. - Search for "Lawnmower Syndrome". It's a real thing, and it sounds like with the hard starting and rough running...

https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/read-codes-volvo-850 I know that a major job you just did. If you don't have a code reader... disconnect negative battery cable for about a half hour. Sure clear unless you have another issue... Yes, I'm aware of all the code procedures :) But somehow this CEL elud...

Re: Problems (engine? transmission?) after PCV job Topic is solved

Just update in case someone comes across this in the future: I did another check of all the hoses again. Looked even where I didn't think I disconnected anything. And I found 2 hoses out, one a vacuum, one another hose in the back (near the firewall). Can't remember how they got unhinged but put the...

Can't clear CEL (check engine light) Topic is solved

I had some vacuum hose problem a while back. All that is gone now, and I've don't have any code for socket A1 (trans) and A2 (engine). Yet the check engine light still remains. Do I have to clear all the codes from all sockets for the light to go away? I have ABS codes but I had them for years befor...

Re: Problems (engine? transmission?) after PCV job Topic is solved

To continue my story, I went out and check the connectors today. Just like the codes said, I didn't plug the TPS sensor in. Easy, right? I pushed it in, started the car, it still felt like before (doesn't want to start unless I press on the throttle). However this time I didn't leave the throttle on...

Re: My 2000 volvo s70 randomly dies while drving or idling

Same here, fuel pump relay. That should be the first thing you replace if you experience this symptoms. Only when that doesn't help then you start changing something else. I also carry a jumper with me all the time. You can jump the contacts and drive around until you get the replacement relay (if t...

Re: Goodbye 98 V70

I understand your situation and your sentiments. Those oil pan O-rings become a problem after 10 years of use are are a pain to replace. For Volovs - all I know is for older high mileage Volvos if the pressure light comes on and/or flickers and disappears under RPMs (and the easy stuff is excluded ...

Re: Problems (engine? transmission?) after PCV job Topic is solved

Well, I have a bunch of codes :) I guess I'll be busy this long weekend... Socket A1: 213: Throttle position signal too high 323: Lock-up slipping or not engaged. Socket A2: 411: Throttle position sensor signal outside voltage range Socket A6: 411: Throttle position sensor signal absent or faulty Wa...
