Thank you for getting back to me. The answers to your questions are:

1) I only have one remote control

2) there have been occasions when I've had to press the button two or three times to unlock the doors, but there was not a problem with the immobiliser.

I have just had to get the AA out to my 1995 1.8 Volvo 440 made for the UK market.
I parked it and the remote locking wouldn't lock.
I locked it with the key, immediately realising that I couldn't then deactivate the immobiliser.
The AA spent over an hour and a half on it and at one point it started ...

I have disconnected the running lights as below by removing the yellow wire, and immediately the electric aerial packed up!
Reconnected the running lights but the aerial still did not work.
Is this just an unlucky coincidence or could there be a reason.

Please can anybody tell me how to stop the headlights on my 1995 1.8 Volvo 440 made for the UK market being constantly on!
I had an American vehicle once that did the same thing and all that was necessary was to remove a fuse but this system must be different.
Can anybody help please?
