We just had the ball joints redone recently. Is that like the Ujoint? Could that fix be the problem? We had that done at a very experiened Volvo shop so it should be good.

'93 850 steering

Hi, I had a problem with the rack leaking that finally we had to have fixed--too big a leak. The local guy who fixed it seemed to do a good job, but I wondered if he put the right fluid in, and then the steering started to be uneven again. Fluid levels are fine though so no leak. I asked him if he p...

Ok...Leave someone else inside the car? I'm not familiar with that term deadlocking. My '93 will set the alarm with the window open.

Well I was going to post a pic of my '93 key fob, but I don't see how to attach a pic and I don't have a host to link to, so anyway it is grey with only one button. I tried to program it to the '96 850 I just got and it didn't work. So that's one experiment down. I did just install new lighting in t...

Re: Horn contacts

Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I have read Terry Haywood's comments . Three of the contacts are shot, the other can possible be repaired. Where can I buy the contacts without having to buy the stirring wheel? Thanks I don't know where to get the part, but I had my '93 850 in the shop...

What's a good way to test if the alarm triggers? (I don't feel much like smashing a window..) Leave the window open  and pull the lever. It ought to make noise. My '93 also has the feature that if you hold the key fob button down for awhile the alarm will sound. Then click it to make it stop.

different key fob

Well mine is grey with one button. Might be because it was shipped in from Sweden...one of those "special delivery" cars. I'll post a pic and update if it works with our new 850 next week.

key fobs

I know that the FOBs for the 96 and 97 are tons mor expensive than the earlier 850 models. they usually advertise them as working on all model years. Is this not true? I've also seen posts from people having trouble getting them to re-program. Perhps that was the trouble. The one's I've seen on eba...
