Just did this repair this weekend following your instructions. Only thing I added was use a tooth pick to put a little dielectric grease on the armature after cleaning it up. Works perfectly now. Thanks!

I have the same question please.

I replaced my starter (manual 850) and found three wires on the starter stud. Two red and one yellow. Plus the green/red ignition wire spade connector. Maybe a previous owner miss-wired it? Any one know what that third wire is and where its supposed to go?
