Re: remove axle from transmission

Been using a chisel on every driver's side axle for 10 years now ... http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/83426-removing-driver-side-axle/ Use a 5/8 chisel (or a tapered, wooden wedge, etc.), tap it straight up from underneath with a heavy hammer. "Pop," it's out. I too have doing it like...

Re: Timing belt

I'm more of a guy that if I just bought the car and unsure, I would change it. that way, I would not be wondering every time I get in the car. who knows, maybe some unethical mechanic told the original owner that it needed to be changed at 20k miles?

Re: Bad Blower Motor & Fuse #5 Popping on '97 850 GLT Sedan

Ben, Unless you really cant do the job yourself, I would buy a blower motor like this. $58.30 for the motor. They sit right behind the glove compartment which is only held on by a few screws. I thing the blower itself is only held on my about 3 or 4 screws and has a connector. a fairly simple and ba...

Re: Pulling Motor/Trans, couple questions

I commend you on doing your own work. ive pulled many motors on many cars in my life. I have also pulled a 97 Volvo glt years ago though I do not really remember how I did it or if there were anything special compared to other motors I have removed. I do them cause I do not see myself paying someone...

Re: Rate your skills - the official MVS poll

I just recently replaced bank one cylinder head replacement for my 2007 gl450 benz because it was burning oil due to wife not telling me i...

mine did the same thing where I had to press the gas pedal and it also didn't run too well. I replaced that MAF and it went back to normal

Re: 1999 Volvo S 70 Driver Door Thinks Its Open

This is a fairly simple fix and a common problem. There is no need to buy a $100.00+ new switch. You can do this job inside of an hour. I will not go into detail on explaining how to take the door panel apart or how to unbolt the latch. After you have the latch out, you can see in the picture the sm...

Re: Timing Belt Job Gone Wrong... '99 S70 T5

Did u hook up obdii and try to get a reading to see if it's a crank or cam sensor error? That can narrow it down. As for me, on my benz, I had a bad CPS and it didn't have a DTC. I tested the CPS and it was bad. Car would crank and not start and it didn't read anything on the obdii. There are either...
