ETM/Volvo Dealer questions
I have a 1999 C70 Conv. and it is 21 days from being out of its 10 year ETM warranty. A couple of weeks ago, I had no cruise, loping idle, surging, ETS light on , along with the CEL. I did an overhaul by replacing the entire PCV system, cleaning the throttle body and elbow, along with the intake man...

Another dumb question
What is the sensor and plug located just before the throttle body on the intake tube of an X70 turbo car? The sensor is just pushed in, with an electical connector right next to it.

Re: Engine oil for 97 850 T5
JDS^)R is 100% right ii\n his post; could'nt have said it any better. Whacked the nail right on the head! Plus Mobil 1 does make a full synthetic for 'higher mileage' cars.

Re: Dumb Question
Thanks for the links, they were very helpful. I just have a tiny bit of residue on the bottom of the cooler, hopfully it is just the seal. I say 'hopefully' because I would rather set the car on fire and push it in the river before spending another $275 on it. I just put $2300 in parts alone into it...

How much will this great metal and plastic part set me back?

Re: Dumb Question
I inspected the 'box' today. It says Volvo on it and has a manufacturer name of 'BEHR'. It has two hoses on it, one is going to a large diamete steel tube on the back of the block that goes to the turbo and a rubber coolant cose, so it obviously has coolant in it. The other hose goes to what looks l...

Re: Dumb Question
It is on the back of the motor, right next to the engine oil drain plug. I have already replaced the entire PCV system, as well as the oil drain seal kit. The car is 100% oil tight, with the exception of the this plastic box, which has a very slight amount of residue on it. No drips, just residue. I...

Dumb Question
I have a 1999 C70 LPT and I have a question. What is the black plastic box to the right of the oil drain plug with 2 hoses going into it? It is attached to the block and is easily accessible from under the car. Mine appears to be leaking a bit of oil. I would just like to know what to call it, and i...

Re: More Trouble
Well, it was the alternator. I replaced it (fairly easy job), and all is well. Battery reads 13.8v when the car is running now, 12.7 when it is off. Just bad luck, I guess.
