850 ABS
I really need some help here. Even my favorite Volvo dealership mechanic is stumped by this one. I have a 1993 850 GLT Sedan, non-turbo automatic. The rear brakes quit working altogether. Both calipers are fine, but no fluid is getting back there. Even a pressure bleed did not get any fluid back the...

850 ABS unit replacement
I need to replace the ABS pump on my '93 850 GLT non-turbo. Does anyone know about interchangeability of pumps from other years? It seems like Volvo part 0 265 205 010 is the one, but want to make sure. Also noticed that Mat offers rebuild units. Mayber that's the way to go. Need to know soon as dri...

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
Success! However, victory is bittersweet. There were likely several issues involved and through systematic testing and component replacement I was brought back to square one. Volvo Voodoo at its finest. Here is the litany of diagnostics and components replaced: fuel injection relay pump relay (seem...

Any thoughts on the computer? How can it be tested?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
I checked pump voltage at the red and black wires. No reading with ignition on. Should I have someone cranking the engine and then take a reading? The 15A Fuse is OK, though I did not get a reading at the fuse either.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
No fuel reaching rail. No sound from pump when ignition turned on. Is a fuse a possibility or is there another relay to check? If voltage is getting to the pump, should i replace entire pump unit or just the cartridge?
Thanks!
Mike

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
I will verify that today. I have a feeling I won't be hearing that sound. If that's the problem, is fuel pump R&R the next step?

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
I replaced the camshaft position sensor and started/stopped it 5 or 6 times with no problem. With way too much confidence, I drove a couple of miles to the store without incident in 20 degree weather. I had the joy of walking home in that 20 dergree weather. The car would not restart and I ended up ...

Re: 97, 850 turbo, stalling, not starting, many fault codes
Anybody know if the fuel pump itself can cause intermittent failure to start or to cause stalling? I’ve replaced both of the usual relays, plugs wires etc. which helped, but it still occasionally fails to start and will then start after 15-20 minutes. If not the pump, what is the next item to check?...
