I just did this for my 2001 S60, and it's the same procedure. I didn't use a genuine volvo filter, so there was no plastic tab to guarantee proper insertion. Just take note of how the old one was oriented.

I replaced the front left and front right turn signal bulbs this morning, and that fixed the problem. Changing the left bulb alone did not fix the problem. I had to replace the right bulb as well to keep the electrical load the same.

The left turn signal was easy to replace, but the right turn ...

I tried roughing the connections with sandpaper, but I still get the message. I'm going to replace the front and rear left turn signals later this week. I'll be sure to report whether or not that fixes the problem.

I recently solved this same problem on my 2001 S60. There are four parking lights on the back of my car (two left/two right). I had to replace all four of them to make the message go away.

The bulbs cost me $11 from Advance Auto Parts and it took me five minutes to replace them.

That's all great advice and I'll definitely have to try the sandpaper trick. However, does anyone have a guide on how to take the bulbs out? :?:

Here's a pic of my 2001 S60. It has 121K miles, is fun to drive, and is great for road trips. Very few people own Volvos where I live, so it's nice to drive something different.
