I used a worm gear clamp to fix the motor by the glove box a couple years back. No problem since.

When I replace the CV boot on the driver side, the transmission fluid that leaked out when the axle was removed was a lot more brown than it appears on the dip stick. I gripped it right behind the tie rod ball and used a pipe wrench to loosen it.
