Re: Is there a light in the ashtray?

No soldering at all on the switch bulbs, just pop them in and wrap the wire contacts. Part numbers including for radio bulbs, links and an example of how to replace the switch bulbs: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=67244 Mouser (see above) is a better source for incandescent...

Re: Thermostat Replacement Advice

I sure don't remember doing this when I did my radiator and thermostat , now I have another thing to keep me up at night. :x Unhook the reservoir and move it into the engine bay so it is below the level...

Re: hardly running 850 glt

Bad MAF is a good bet, especially given what you said in first post. Unplug it with the car off, drive it around. If that cures it, get a Bosch MAF. If not, you're going to need a Bosch MAF soon anyway. Not a good idea to pul/unplug while it is running. These are cars are tolerant yes, but not of no...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

Installed badly needed new struts on the 95 R. I don't even know what these old ones were, the label is no help, they were on the car when I got it. One of them was leaking oil. I got this car for $150 from a guy 3 blocks away after he posted on MVS it had a blown engine and he was giving up on it. ...

Re: Thermostat Replacement Advice

I've heard of using a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut slits into the bolt heads for removal with a large flat head screw driver. I do not think these are common bolts to snap, usually just strip the heads, so I would try the impact. But first, soak everything in your favorite penetrating oil. Al...

Re: Many Misfire Codes

... But the TWC and cat damage concern me... anyone know what these mean? ... Those codes show just mean if you don't take care of the misfire, it could theoretically dump enough unburned fuel in that it would damage the cat. Which basically never happens if there is any maintenance going on at all...

Re: Oetiker project stopper. Zip tie instead?

I think the idea is to only flatten the crimp a little bit, enough to catch the clamp holes on the tab(s). Presumably it is close, or else it is the wrong clamp? Which GKN boot did you get? I have done several P80 axles in the last year, both inners and outers. Some were tight but I could get them. ...
