You think it could be the head gasket if my oil isn't milky and I am not getting any white smoke out of my exhust? Do you have any suggetions on where to find a head gasket? I have called autozone, pepboys, napa, and advance auto parts near me and none of them carry it. I dont really want to go thro...

I can take a picture tonight and load it on here I know the hose you speak of and thats not it, it sits to the right of the cap and is only 2-3 inches long... I took the bolt out and the engine stays cooler but still runs warmer while driving but not near the red line, and I dump alot of antifreeze....

why?! i was driving down the interstate at about 60 miles an hour when the temp started to climb and the car overheated. i just bought the car about 2 weeks ago, and have discovered someone had put a bolt in the coolant overflow hose. we took that out and it doesnt seem to overheat, the fan kicks on...
