After a bit of help from the guys over at v70r.com I have a bit better idea of what I am doing.
I am going to basically go with the V70 lowered chassis parts, but put higher performance front struts and HD mounts from IPD.

I wish someone made a good aftermarket top hat, that is what has failed on ...
