Re: Fixing cracked leather seats.
Fantastic job. I had to find this thread after reading the one on the steering wheel repari. I'm not ready yet to do this myself (tons of smaller projects to do), but maybe in a few months if you report back good things this could be the avenue for me as well during Christmas. I have pretty much the...

Re: Coolant: how to measure ratio water-coolant
Yeah an anti freeze tester tool is the best one for the job. It'll tell you what temperature your car is good for. 50/50 is ideal but not a diehard requirement. Colder climates may require closer to a 60/40 (Coolant/Water) blend. Most stores have testers for $1 to $3 with the $3 one looking fancier ...

Re: S70 sputtering, now won't accelerate over 20 mi per hr
You have no codes... so it sounds to me like it's the fuel relay. Mine has failed but yet it didn't just die like other peoples had done. Pull the relay and use a paperclip to jumper between the front and back pins (87 & 15)... if the car runs fine, then there's the problem. If that's the case, ...

Re: recurring front O2 sensor code
I'm going to tell you my story and take from it what you will. On my 99 V70 my car threw the front 02 sensor code and codes related to a real problem I have with my ABS. After much searching it ended up being my fuel relay which throws no codes but can do a number on the fuel system and throw 02 cod...

Re: I just replaced my fuel pump, why does this happen?
Mine did something similar before the fuel relay kicked the bucket. Try removing the relay and put a jumper in it's place and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then there you go... yo ugot a bad (possibly poorly repaired) relay.

Re: Recommendations for Repair Manuals
For most stuff I use: Haynes - It seems to be detailed enough for most tasks Volvo_850.zip file from this site covers the 850 but much of that information is accurate with my 99' V70. Some stuff just isn't (try looking for info on an Idle Air Control Valve sometime... it looks nothing like the older...

Re: A paperclip as a Fuel Pump Relay bandaid?
The drive home was smooth as ever with the paperclip installed for the ~40 mile ride. Even though the abs flaked out a few times (thus hurting the calculated miles per gallon in the computer, not the actual MPG), I managed a whopping 33mpg calculated average ... which means it was even better than t...

Re: Power Antenna Repair- a few questions
I had to replace the mast on my old 94' 940 once. Here's the thing I haven't read so far... Remove the original mast. Compare it to the new mast. If the plastic toothed part on the new mast is longer than the old mast, then go ahead and fully remove the motor unit and take it apart because there bou...
