If you've donen the PCV job I would make absolutely sure all the passage ways are clear. To do this you need to drop the oil pan and confirm the one leading to the bottom of the PCV box is clean. Hi have you checked the PCV behind the inlet manifold on 850's they fail causing the issues you have described and its far cheaper than piston rings Changing piston rings is an engine out job because you cannot complete the job with the engine in. 850 glt replacing piston rings
hello everyone. in the recent past i have replace the head gasket on my 95 850 Volvo glt.the problem i have is oil spilling from the oil cap and smoke coming from the dip stick.i overheated on a tip.use a radiator sea lent to patch the leak.now i want to replace the piston rings .can anyone steer me...

i had time today so i took the upper cylinder and found that i had place the cams shaft in the wrong position i had the intake cam in the exhaust position and the exhaust cam in the the intake .i know i will be good from hear on.thank you all.

i assume u r referring to the upper head.FCPGroton wrote:+1, your lucky nothing got messed up while you were torquing everything down. Pull the head, line everything up correctly, reinstall the head.

Everything needs to be lined up to the timing marks before the head goes on. If you are way off the only thing you can do is take the head off again, get the crank shaft lined up with its mark, and then lock the cams in their #1 TDC position prior to torquing the head down. i have just replace the headgasket on 95 glt 850 sedan and have reassemble all parts.when i turn the crank shaft i could only turn it a little before i hit something i think it's a valve.so i turn it counter clock and i can turn is maybe a 1/4 turn then hit something.does anyone have any ideas on wh...
