Finally took it in for an evaluation. found a great garage! It's the transmission, totally burnt out. So needs a replacement at $1,100 for used installed that has 125K miles on it. I'm asking myself if it's time to sell. I can get probably $1800 for it. Comments please.

So now that the car quit shifting should I simply refill transmission fluids, and that might take care of it? I checked and there were some fluid stains on my driveway. Will it need a new transmission at this point?

my car now has another problem.
Drove for about 5 miles and it started having trouble shifting the automatic transmission into 3rd and 4th gears. It progressively got worse until it would not shift at all, even in reverse. Finally had to pull over and have it towed. Any ideas?

It would be very remarkable to have the Volvo last longer than my "new" 2007 Corolla. I know I will love having both.

I don't know which codes posted. The mechanic said that all parts were in working order, but because they are old he recommended replacing them. The ECM is actually the electronic ignition control.
