Re: 1998 v70 front caliper spring clip? :(

My calipers look like those on your pic thread. However, I have seen calipers on the net, where the spring goes under the ears behind the outer pad, so hence a shorter spring. I think that is what came with my kit as the spring is impossibly tight - I just cannot imagine it going on in the current c...

Re: 1998 v70 front caliper spring clip? :(

Thanks Lee, I'll give it a shot, that so far has held the most promise in my trials....from what I see...What I have come to realize, comparing the old and new spring, is the old one was broken at one end- at the tip which goes in the hole. It was just the side force of the spring which kept it in p...

1998 v70 front caliper spring clip? :(

So, I'm putting new pads and rotors on my v70. Please, please, explain how to put the heavy spring clip back in? I have new ones with the kit and I have tried every manner to put it back in. I saw a guy online just clipping it back in with his hands. I tried that, but the little bend on the end of t...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder

Thanks gents. I yanked out one of the spark plugs just for curiousity. It is tan colour (my wife would say, thats not tan, thats taupe, get it right :) ) all around the electrode, but I can see the electrode is all rounded off and probably shorter, I did not check the gap. I see these bosch platinum...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder

I just did the nitrile glove tie wrapped over the oil filler opening. when I increased the RPM on the motor, the glove sucks into the opening and when it was idling the glove kind of pulsed a little then just lay there not doing either blowing out or sucking in. I put some drywall tape around the ca...

Re: What has failed on your 1992-2000 FWD or AWD Volvo?

I wonder how the volvos stack up against other cars of like vintage regarding a similar list?
Although I voted on the poll, I hope I did not jinx myself by doing so....

Re: Just how rare is your Volvo

I have a 98 v70, non turbo with a 5 speed manual. Built in Belgium, driven in Belgium, then shipped here when owner moved to Canada. Car is all metric in gauges, which most N/A cars have both imperial and metric on the gauges. Makes it a challenge to keep the speeds correct when traveling stateside....
