Re: White/Blue Smoke from the Tail Pipe 97 R Wagon
The ports aren't a straight shot and there are a few bends that aren't visible. What I did in the past that you can try before pulling everything apart is: take off the oil trap hose thats connected to the valve cover on top and pour abit of seafoam down the tube. You will hear it pouring into the o...

Re: White/Blue Smoke from the Tail Pipe 97 R Wagon
I don't think the PTC mod has much positive effect as claimed (my opinion). By drilling the bottom larger only when the throttle is open will it help a little. When idling that hole being larger hurts the system, as the throttle is shut the small vacumm line that is attached to the PTC will have a h...

Re: White/Blue Smoke from the Tail Pipe 97 R Wagon
If your compression is good I wouldn't give up on the motor that quick. I had similar issues thinking it was valve stem seals, had a rebuilt turbo but you know what.. it was the turbo. Did you rebuild the turbo yourself or have a shop do it? My issue was resolved after another careful turbo rebuild ...

Re: 1998 Volvo V70 will not start after plugs, cap, rotor
If the car ran before the ingition system was touched then it should be more likely related to ignition than fuel. You should hear the pump prime when key is in position 2. You can also check for fuel by using a screwdriver and pressing the schrader valve at the end of fuel rail while key is in pos ...

If you removed the airbox to install the distributor cap , check all sensors and make sure you plugged them back in. Maf/ crank/ cam/ TPS .

Re: My 96 850 Turbo Wagon idles fine but dies with any load
I had the same issue a year ago. After swapping every sensor and part I could think of I finally opened the fuel pump and had the exact same slipped hose like Chuck W. The nipple isnt ribbed and the oetiker style clamp with hose will slip down over time. Access is easy in a wagon takes 20min. Worth ...

Re: 1998 V70R PO172 Fine under idle, dies under load
Check small rubber line after pulling fuel pump. They slide down after years of vibration. Easy to do, common on these cars. Inspect/clean/replace pump sock while your in there. I suggest anyone with acceleration issues to check this first before replacing parts unless codes tell you otherwise.
