thanks guys for the reply and the diagram bill...i did find a black relay, with P/N 1307064 on the top it says 896329 and manufacturers date is 26.09.1984 it sounds like the relay is a messed up, bc when i shake it, it sounds like a little piece inside is broke and makes a jingle...is this the corre...

i have a white 84 240dl , my overdrive isn't working, and mpg is obviously not as great on the fwy due to this...i may be not the most brilliant but i cant seem to locate it. The dealer said it should be behind the glovebox on the left, i tried looking but did not find it...can someone please please...
