Extra Oil Filters
I couldn't see a classifieds section so... I have 7 unused Mann Oil Filters (they include gasket) for sale (finally gave up on the volvo, '98 v70 turbo, and got a new car). I have no idea how much shipping will be, so $20 for 7 shipped anywhere in the CONUS. If there is actually a classifieds, feel ...

A/C Refrigerant Valve Core Tool
I think i'm leaking refrigerant out of the valve that you use to fill up the refrigerant. To me it looks like the core of a regular schrader valve on a bike tube. I got a valve core tool (lets you remove the valve core from the valve stem) from a local bike shop, but it's too shallow to reach the co...

Re: Weird light w/ a fan in it
Honestly, this site is better than any manual out there for learning how to do stuff yourself. Oh yeah, this is WAY better than any manual. I'm guessing that you filled up the expansion tank, but since you were so low you need to fill it up again since your thermostat opened and let all the expansi...

Re: Poly Top Engine Mount
Sorry to dig up an old post, I just wanted to add to it for when someone searches. I just installed a new poly upper engine mount and now I have 'barely' noticeable vibration. It's so slight that I doubt my wife noticed a change at all when she's driving. My engine feels a lot smother now (including...

Re: Mystery Oil Leak (lots of pictures)
Did the leak start right after you did the PCV? The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if the short stubby hose might have a leak where it attaches to the engine block. That seems to be the area where most of the oil is. You might check it for looseness or a crack. Also, was the block opening where...

Re: Mystery Oil Leak (lots of pictures)
Got It!!!!
So the moral of the story really should be "Don't over tighten screw type hose clamps"
It was that short stubby PCV hose. I guess I over tightened it when I put it on. Ooops. I guess now I know why Volvo uses those horrible claspy clamps

Re: Mystery Oil Leak (lots of pictures)
So after looking at everything more and more I felt like it wasn't any of the hoses connecting to the radiator or anything else I could see. I realized the only way to see where it was coming from was to clean off everything, drive for a little bit, and then see where it was leaking from. I cleaned ...

Re: Cannot put New timing belt on!
haha, I did the exact same thing swedehast. I looped it around (what I thought was) the crankshaft and pulled it tight. Only after I felt with my fingers did I realize that it had gotten caught up on something. It's funny that everyone else does the same thing.

Re: Cannot put New timing belt on!
I did a google search for images because i'm lazy and didn't want to go out to the car to take a picture. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8803 http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p82/kc95turbo/Volvo/1105061817.jpg I can't remember if I kept the bolts out of the tensio...
