Here is what I did to determine it was a rear wheel bearing in my xc90.

The noise from the vehicle was very loud at highway speeds. I took the car out on an interstate where I had two lanes to play with. Do this when there is no traffic around you. I got up to speed where the sound was the loudest ...

I see that this small coolant line needs to be removed from a plastic nipple. The nipple appears to be an elbow. I think the nipple needs to come out in order to get the timing belt cover over it but I am not sure how to do it. What should be a simple job.....

I haven't experienced that yet (the differential) but did have a noise problem from the rear and figured out it was the left rear hub that I needed to replace. Easy job to do and about $125 for parts.

I used Akebono Brake Pads Euro (Ceramic) for the rear.

No, I downloaded the attachments and have printed them out. I think the issue for me is that there is no screw attaching the front timing cover. There is apparently a small coolant line that needs to be disconnected so the cover can be removed and I'm not positive that even with the cover off the ...

Well I made it this far but for the life of me can't figure out how to get the timing belt cover off. Even with it off I'm not sure I can get to the Tstat behind the belt.
