Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56 fuel lines
Aside from replacing shifter and cable bushings no new progress. I have just been driving the 850 daily seeing what breaks or not. Yesterday the fuel line running from the filter up to the engine developed a massive leak. Almost looks like it split. The plastic cover that normally protects the lines...

Progress on the new addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
Just to update all new parts are in, timing belt kit, hoses, plugs, wires etc. etc. New blower motor and resistor, assorted bulbs, switches, fluids and shift cable bushings done. Car is stage 0 at this point. AC seems a bit weak so going to chase that down. I have MCC which relay behind the glovebox...

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56 Problem Solved
Before too many people waste time with the previous post, I had a flash of insight. Car was on jackstands so I had chocked the wheels and put it in gear. It dawned on me that I cannot rotate the engine until the car is in neutral (manual tranny). Feeling rather stupid!

Re: New addition, I am an Idiot!
Before anyone wastes any time on the previous post. I had a flash of insight. Out of an abundance caution I chocked the wheels and put the car in gear before placing it on jackstands. Before I can turn the motor over I have to have the tranny in neutral!!!!!!!

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
Hoping for some guidance here. As mentioned above, I am putting new timing belt, water pump etc. on the 850. I made my initial marks on the upper timing cover to line up with the marks on the intake and exhaust gear. I got all the new parts on and was going to place the top cover on just to verify a...

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
Thanks, for suggestions. I ended up going to a local Fastenal store and got a replacement bolt with a head. That should fix the issue. I suppose McMaster-Carr would have been another option.

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56 Updat
All the new parts arrived last week. Today (Sat.) was nice, perfect for doing some wrenching. Silly me, was thinking I will just throw the timing belt in first!! After I stripped the Torx head bolt on the tensioner pulley and spent 2 hours grinding the tensioner so I could get a grip on the bolt and...

Re: New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56 PICS
Thanks to all. Never thought about the ODO, ordered both gears. Pics below, sorry, the blurred interior shot is courtesy of my dog! Just fixing some minor issues with door locks and such and removing a really bad window tint to keep busy until the real parts come in from IPD, FCP Euro, and Snabb. Ye...

New addition, '97 850 wagon, base, M56
I just picked up this wagon, will post pics soon. I know the 9 and 2 series but am a P80 noob! Initially doing timing belt, fluids, belts, hoses etc. etc. feel free to add any suggestions. The car needs some TLC, but compression is good, clutch is solid, AC works, and it passed our state inspection,...
