Re: 2001 V70 Won't Crank
Problem Solved. I guess when the Volvo shop was checking the electrical system out, they must have loosened the negative terminal cable where it connects to the frame since the bolt was a bit loose. I tightened it up and it starts with out any problems. Perhaps it was just loose enough that it could...

Re: 2001 V70 Won't Crank
Well, so much for trying to jump. There is no power being distributed to anything - it's a "dead" car electrically. No dashboard lights, locks don't work with any of our fobs. The voltage with the jumper cables hooked up was close to 14 volts, so I think that is good. I checked the fuses th...

Re: 2001 V70 Won't Crank
Thanks for the reply. Supposedly, the Volvo shop I had it at a month ago checked the battery/charging system and they said it was okay. I've got it on a trickle charge right now, but good idea about jumping it from my other car. The battery (Volvo brand) is only 4-5 years old, and I expected it to l...

2001 V70 Won't Crank
I went to start my Volvo this morning and the doors opened with the key for, but went I turned the key to crank, I got a click and everything just died - no lights, key would not lock/unlock doors, nothing. It's as though the battery was taken out. I checked the battery and it showed 12.3 volts. I a...

Re: Potential Electrical Problem 2001 V70
Bad power cable? Is that the cable that runs from the battery to the fuse block in the engine compartment? Meanwhile I'll check the alternator, battery and voltage regulator.
Thanks for the info.

Potential Electrical Problem 2001 V70
I have an odd thing happening with my electrical/lighting system. When I am driving around where I can see my inside lights (dark outside), they appear to be be full brightness, but when I turn on a turn signal, or put on the brakes, I get a momentary dimming of my console lights, radio back lightin...

Re: HEAT GAUGE VARIES FROM QUARTER TO ALMST HALF
I had a similar problem on my 2001 V70. In cold weather, the gauge would barely rise off the peg, but in summer months, it would be close to a normal reading. I replaced the thermostat and everything is working correctly. Figured the old thermostat was sticking in the open position.

Re: P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected
I have been having the same code for quite a while. It started out as a "Small Leak" but now is the "Gross Leak". When I clear the code, it usually takes 4-5 days to come back, so I think it is a small leak that take a few days to activate the code. Can I narrow down the possibil...
