Re: 2005 XC90 2.5T ATF Dipstick reading

Thanks jimmy57 - good to learn what the consequences are :) Did not like the warning on the dipstick and would hate having to replace the tranny. Because I overthink my plan C for a future tranny replacement is to get it in the US and have it freight shipped to save on cost. I'll try to not worry to...

Re: 2005 XC90 2.5T ATF Dipstick reading

Thanks for the tip, however I'm too cautious to not be precise about the volumes :) I've pulled variable volumes depending on for how long I leave the car to drip, and one time I got out more than 4 qts. I will further extract a bit more since VADIS says "where room temperature is 20 degree cel...

Re: 2005 XC90 2.5T ATF Dipstick reading

Thanks oragex - I forgot to add the temp in the original post. Agree on the ideal temp being 80 - however after 2 hours on the highway it read only 69 degree Celcius. The sides of the dipstick were not giving me any conclusive reading either :( Feel like I'm at a loss and any hints or tips are very ...

2005 XC90 2.5T ATF Dipstick reading

Hi guys, On my 2005 XC90 2.5T I've been doing drain and refill with the Mobil 1 JWS 3309 ATF oil four times over the last year now, and I struggle a bit with reading the ATF dipstick. I've always drained, measured, then filled new oil of the same volume. However I'm a bit cautious about the ATF and ...

Re: B4 Servo Cover Replacement Guide

Great post Colin!
I take it the lack of replies are due to the horrors of the job.
I'll get the parts and add it to my task list. Should I be worried?

What bolt did you use to screw in the transmission and aid with compression of the plunger?

Re: 2004 XC90 Vida Software Failed Downloading

Hi! I believe you are at the number 3 issue. The connection between your computer and Volvo is severed. I've tried out Vida and Dice a couple of times. Did you get it from Volvo? I believe most sold online (less than 1 000 USD) are counterfeit (cracked/pirated). From what I've seen earlier the crack...

Re: 2007 XC90 AC Compresor making noise

Sorry I don't have an exact answer for you... Did you replace the drive belt for the AC compressor? If the wheel on the AC compressor wobbles I'd check if it has a defect from the factory. Wobbles are seldom good. Did you just replace the AC compressor? The noise and dust came from the replacement? ...

Re: 03 XC90 cd changer ate itself

Ouch! Sounds terrible :( I've read and heard (and seen) issues where the owner of a XC90 has replaced the cd-changer only to either harm wiring (fiber optic) or something else messes up that throws error codes (airbag one being the worst). I haven't had the chance to try and fix any, but I'd expect ...
