Re: Putting vacuum lines back together
thanks, the helps. it looks like the vacuum port on the air box runs to the other side of the air box, where there are 2 vacuum ports.
anybody know what the second vacuum port on the other side of the air box connects to? thank you.

Re: Air filter vacuum hose connection
Hi, I'll go on the assumption that the top line is the thin black plastic one that connects to the port on the other side (below air filter). I'm still trying to figure out what the bottom port goes to, as well as the 2 vacuum right above the fan shroud. One is the purple one that goes all the way b...

Re: Air filter vacuum hose connection
Hi, I'm also in the process of putting my vacuum lines back together. So, it looks like that top port just connects to the vacuum port on the other side of the air box, near the bottom. Was that a black plastic vacuum line by any chance? I'm also trying to figure out what to connect the bottom port ...

Putting vacuum lines back together
Hi All, I'm wrapping up a head gasket job on my base model 96 850. I used the tutorial here: Volvo 5-cylinder: How to Replace the Head Gasket, which so far has worked out well. I have a few things different on my vehicle compared to his, such as I have no EGR in the intake manifold for example. So, ...

Re: White smoke and rough starts after replacing radiator
UPDATE: I've decided to do the head gasket job. After finally removing the head yesterday, I found signs of coolant in the combustion chambers, so it was definitely time. Can anybody recommend a good machine shop in the lower Hudson Valley of New York? I'm in the Fishkill/Poughkeepsie area. For anyo...

Re: White smoke and rough starts after replacing radiator
UPDATE:
I've tried a "radiator stop leak" product from Bar's, and so far it's been buying me time. I put it in about 2 months ago, and so far the problem has disappeared.
Any ideas on how long this stuff lasts? I've driven at least a couple of thousand miles so far.

AC not working consistently
Hi, I've been having a problem with my AC on my 96 850 for the past month. Normally, I've just had to put in a can of R134a every other year, and it had been working great. This summer, it's been blowing cold air for only about 5-10 minutes, and then it will seemingly cut out because it then starts ...
