Re: Transmission Dipstick Location - 2000 S70

If yours has the 5 speed auto, then it is much harder to see. It is tucked way down on the front of the trans and is typically a short yellow dipstick and is held in with a clip. The clip has to be bent slightly to one side to allow the dipstick to be removed. Access is tricky, but best done by remo...

Re: Check out this blast from the past I just found

I still have 2 of these in my stash of parts. Actually sold another to someone on Vancouver Island recently who loves CD's!

One of the 2 actually mounts into the glove-box!

Enjoy.

Re: PCV kit prices with shipping in europe

Try Skandix.de in Germany, and perhaps (not sure if they still have them) try Mekonomen in Sweden.

I would suggest you are still a long way short of what I have into my 'R'. This is not a competition I want to win though!!

Good Luck.

Re: Short to ground... where is it? Fuse 11A/8 Topic is solved

The wiring harnesses are prone to cracking where the harness enters the door. Could be you have a wire that is shorting in there. I have had to repair 2 or 3 of these.

Re: ECM-6300 and ECM-6B00 2000 V70R [BAD Battery to fusebox supply cable!] EPIC Troubleshooting Topic is solved

Thanks for the thanks, but glad you got to the bottom of the issue eventually. It is a strange issue with the B+ cables. Seems to affect the 99/00 'bastards' more than earlier ones for some reason, although earlier cars are not strangers to the issue as well. I have read of cars going on fire and un...

Re: Nivomats

I don't recall the different part numbers and having only had AWD Nivomats hard to say what the differences are. Worth checking if the part numbers have been updated by Volvo. It could be a regular and HD version. What is the ID on the Vin plate for the shock. It may help identify what the differenc...

Re: P80 versus P2 Topic is solved

The P2 (S80) may drive better but our 06 XC70 handling is not as good as any of my P80's. Front suspension is clunky. If you like your comfort then the P80 seats are better. Otherwise, the P2 is a mostly decent car. Try to avoid the adjustable suspension if possible unless it has already been replac...

Re: 1996 850R Blend Door Motor (Damper Motor) ECC

You can remove the cabin sensor (if you have ECC controls) there is one on each side of the car above the door hidden behind the grab handle. Normally you can remove then by removing the door seal, and the wide panel of the windshield (un-clips). I normally clean them with IPA and cotton buds and th...

Re: Trying to confirm part compatibility 70 series vs 850

You can check the ABS module part number for compatible part numbers on Matty Moo's website at Mid-West ABS.

Check the cam sensor wire is not routed near the distributor. When they are the signal gets masked by the distributor and cuts out the engine.
