Re: clock spring?

Yes, it can be broken easily if you don't restrain or lock the steering wheel in position. A rookie mistake.

Re: 2002 s60 vibration VVT ?

I think you are on to something.....the shudder has a overtaxed drivetrain feel to it. I bought the car with about 35,000 miles on it. It has about 135,000 on it now. Is the filter a dealer only item? It is located where percisely? Filtering the gear oil?

Re: 2002 s60 vibration VVT ?

P.S. I cleaned the injectors a couple weeks ago and it made things better, but did not have a decisive impact on the engine vibration.

Re: 2002 s60 vibration VVT ?

That was my thought as well. No code setting and good performance / fuel economy I felt timing was not a direct issue, but the problem still remains. I tested the coil packs and replaced one before the timing belt along with the plugs. I do not feel this is an ignition problem. Not sure what to do.

Re: warm weather tires for 2002 v70 x

I would not reccomend any of the above due to poor tread wear and spotty traction. Take a look at the Kelly Navigator Gold tire. I currently have it on my BMW 530xi and Audi A6. It is excellent. Very aggressive traction and wears well. No flatspot shimmy after sitting overnight like several of the b...

2002 s60 vibration VVT ?

I have had a vibration in the car since I purchased it. Not too bad at first, but now with 130,000 and a new timing belt it is very noticeable. It is present as you slow to a stop and idle. If I put it in neutral it is the same. All ignition parts are fairly new. Made no difference. I found when i r...

Re: 2003 S60 auto transmission no engagement, no DTC code

It sounds like the 1-2 clutch pack is not engaging. You need to find out what your line pressure is at idle and when in gear. This would require a AT pressure gauge kit. The pressures are much higher than typical fuel line pressures, so there is a gauge kit made for this. Mine is a "Snap-On&quo...

Re: When to replace the timing belt

Absolutely! i postponed due to things going on in life and did mine at 120,000 or so. I could have rapped the old one around twice! Don't wait!

Re: 2000 S40 problem

Do a compression test on all cylinders and compare them, could have a damaged valve or cam lobe.

Re: 2001 S60 Auto Transmission trouble

My 2002 S60 AWD mechanically has been very good. It has 125,000 on it. A MAP sensor, exhaust brackets, front/rear hubs, and a coil pack were replaced. The one thing I am unhappy about is the recent failure of my instrument cluster. I am fortunate to find a repair facility to repair it for 260.00 buc...
